  Many support groups assure you that, "You are not alone," and this is very true. You are not alone! But at WNC Brain Tumor Support we have changed that thought to;

"You don't have to be alone!"

Survivor Story:

Upcoming event:

Spaghetti Dinner--Thurs. May 15, 6:00 pm Calendar

  • 5 year survivor
  • oligodendroma - Grade III

My wife was diagnosed with an Oligodendroma grade 3 in the left temporal lobe almost 4 years ago, when she was 5 mo pregnant with our second child. The Doctor told us to abort but we trusted that the Lord had a plan. The Doctor said it couldn't be operated on and she would die in 2-3 months. Our whole church, 1,000 plus people, gathered around her and me and prayed for 4 1/2 hours. We found a Doctor and he did the surgery and removed 80% of it and then she went through radiation and chemo. She also had 20 blood clots go through her heart into her lungs and is on cumoudin. She had a reoccurence after one year and took temodar as well. It worked and she has been in remission for about 1 1/2 yrs. The Doctor keeps saying its just a matter of time before it comes back and kills her, but she doesn't get down. The Lord has performed many miracles in her life and mine. I try to tell as many people as I can her story in hopes that they will turn their life over to God as well. My wife's name is Laura she is 33 and I'm 34. Take care and God Bless You!!

Laura and her husband Dale currently live in Chandler, Arizona. Laura is treated at Barrow's Cancer Clinic in Phoenix, Az

Update 11/2005

This January Laura will be celebrating 5 yrs with her brain cancer. Laura has still had up's and down's along the way. She has had small seisure's and muscle spasm's. She often has terrible headaches. She still gets MRI's every 3 months to make sure that if the cancer starts to grow again that the doctors can catch it quickly. She is still in remission and her spirits remain very high.

We know that everything is in the Lord's hands and he has truely blessed her. The doctors gave her 3 months and she is coming up on 5 years. Our 2nd child that Laura was pregnant with that the Dr's told us she should abort is 4 and will be 5 in March and thank the Lord we trusted in the Lord and not the doctors.

Update 10/2006

Hello my is Dale Presley. I'm Laura Presley's husband and I just wanted to
give you an update on her condition.

On January 10th, 2007 it will be 6 yrs of remission from brain cancer Praise
the Lord!! Laura is doing great and both our children are great. The baby
that we were supposed to abort to save her life if 5yrs old and in
kindergarten and is doing great.

We have truly been blessed by the Lord. All the Dr's gave my wife 3-6 months
to live and she has beaten all of the odds but it's the Lord that has healed
and protected her. Laura still goes in for MRI's every 3 months because the
Dr.'s keep saying oh it will come back and the Lord has held it back. Anyone
that is reading this please be encouraged that if the Lord has a purpose in
someone's life he can and will hold back even cancer until he is done
fulfilling what he has to be completed through that person.

We of course pray everyday to continue to keep the Cancer at bay and
praising him for the miracles he has done. If your struggling always feel
free to email me or Laura and I promise we will respond and pray for you.
Take care!

Dale and Laura welcome any comments or questions concerning her brain tumors or treatment. If you do have any questions or comments, send them an email!
