Members information

  1. How can I become a member?

    To become a member to WNC Brain Tumor Support, all you have to do is call or e-mail leaving your e-mail address for phone number. You will be contacted. If you attend one of our meetings, our secretary will get your name and e-mail address so that you will be on our membership list.

  2. Do I have to have a brain tumor to join?

    No. And your family or caregiver can join as well.

  3. Are their dues?

    There are no dues. If you have had a brain tumor, you have already paid your dues!

  4. Do I have to enroll online?

    It is not a requirement, but if we show that we are a bona fide, strong group, it is easier to obtain sponsorship.

  5. Does WNC Brain Tumor Support have a governing body?

    Yes. WNC BTS consists of a president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. It also consists of a media coordinator, website manager, A/V technician, chaplain and hospitality coordinator.

  6. Do you still meet when there is inclement weather?

    The following procedure will be observed for inclement weather conditions for

    WNC Brain Tumor Support functions. We will go by A-B Tech. night class policy.

    Announcements concerning WNC BTS (A-B Tech) will be made by 3:30 pm on local radio and TV stations for night classes. A voice mail message will be recorded on the switchboard.

    Commuters should exercise personal judgment concerning highway conditions regardless of A-B College announcements, particularly those commuting from outlying areas.

Western North Carolina Brain Tumor Support meets at MAHEC

WNC Brain Tumor Support meets at MAHEC (Mountain Area Health Education Building). It is located at 121 Hendersonville Rd (near the Double Tree Hotel). Asheville, NC 28803 (828- 257-4400).

The meeting will start at 6:15- 8:00 with refreshments in the room posted at the entrance.

Meetings often include special expert speakers and/or events, targeted to provide information of specific interest to the brain tumor community.  All meetings also provide time for social interaction and practical information exchange that has been shown time and again to improve the quality of life of the patients, their families and caregivers.
